The thing is, what I’m seeing expressed from some Cruz supporters on this thread is not that they’re bothered by the fact that they disagree with him on one issue. It’s that this is a particularly important issue. It’s one thing to disagree with your candidate on some minor point, and another to disagree with him on an issue which you view as fundamental.
There’s also the concern about what this shows regarding his ability to stand up to pressure from his donors and from politically correct attacks.
Cruz looks like he might be a good peace president; Trump a war president.
Sometimes the wisest answer is “This needs to be looked into.”
There are folks going off half cocked already saying we can’t do, can’t do, what Trump proposes. It’s worth looking into what an attempt to do it looks like, and not sing the defeat blues in advance.
I hear your point and I might be more disturbed by Cruz’s position if it were really starkly wrong. Of course, Trump’s blanket ban has the appeal of offering more security. But one has to know, can it be done. IOW, we know for certain there would be lawsuits seeking injunctions against such a policy from day one. Similarly, is it politically sustainable? We know the every organ of the left here and around the world, together with the muzzies are going to go bat-shit insane if the policy is enacted. I don’t really give a rat’s assume about their feelings, but they can still raise a new enormous amount of hell. Never mind the DemocRats, the Republic, are already gnashing their teeth very the announcement by Trump before the first primary.
