GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz said Tuesday that he disagrees with rival Donald J. Trump's plan to ban Muslims from coming into the United States until the federal government can ensure that those coming into the nation do not pose a threat to the country.
"I do not agree with his proposal," the Texas senator said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. âI do not think it is the right solution.â
Mr. Cruz said that some have encouraged him to criticize Mr. Trump, but said he will not to so. Instead, he said he is pushing solutions aimed at putting a three year moratorium on refugees from Syria and Iraq, and giving governors more power to stop refugees from being resettled in their states.
Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates in the GOP field ..with the exception of Mr. Cruz .. though he warned at a rally in South Carolina that he will respond in kind if Mr. Cruz attacks him.

“Unfortunately that Japan graphic isn’t true and has been debunked.”
Maybe so, but looks like a good plan regardless.
There are certainly energetic pushes from within that faith to make it happen!
We are talking about gates of hell here, folks.
And gates of hell problems have church solutions.
We just shut all immigration down until the muzzies are defeated. We don’t need anymore immigration anyway for a long time.
It is all very easy.
“The Trumpanzees better PRAY TO GOD that when their guy bombs out, Rubio doesn’t get it.
The dumb bastards had a shot for a real conservative, and they went with the populist instead.”
Classy.
Spiritually, the Christians are “good karma” (to borrow a term) to have. I think many of them want to do good where they are, but also know when a retreat needs to be beaten. I would allow freedom of choice in their case, but not insane government incentives.
Japan is a bit more liberal about it, but still it manages not to throw out the huge welcome mat that the bamboozled West has.
Germany was a country ... a country of origin. Islam is not a country.
It is irrelevant, because we had very little immigration (the Great Pause) from 1930 to 1950.
How do you identify Muslims from non-Muslims?
Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt still have Christians. How hard would it be for a Muslim from one of those countries to claim they are a Christian (Taqiya)?
Cruz's point is we can be selective by country of origin.
It’s good karma to invite people who only know communism and socialism to become voting citizens?
Since 1965, we legalized abortion, gay marriage, established a welfare state, etc.
And people wonder why we don’t have a republic anymore.
That might thrill them secretly. The Koran isn’t a book of virtue. It’s a book of evil with puritanical pretentions.
What I would say is that screening committees could be made up of Middle Eastern Christians and Jews who have had to deal with these folks and know what to look for. The manner, the style.
Good luck with that.
Christians, if sincere, would welcome an open society and add to it.
You make some juicy insinuations; now can you tie them directly to those people, who have been in the minority and hardly in a position to force any kind of democratic change to the good? Don’t blame Christians for what Islamic government looks like.
Donald Trump is correct: America is at WAR with Islam.
Did we allow German Nazis to enter during WW2 ?
Hell no.
Ted Cruz may have just lost Iowa.
.
You have a good point.
Explain what this is supposed to argue? Sounds like so much meaningless emoting.
But Cruz’s solution isn’t the “imperfect” solution you’re referring to?
If brain dead bureaucrats did the screening there is an excellent point here.
But who says this is the deal. I don’t think Donald Trump, the one who thinks out of the box, does.
ah well, cruz is flat wrong here. can still vote for him though.
What could be done faster?
On a Pakistani passport.
Amen!
