Yes; they are.
But WHY?
Looks like backfires being set to SAVE structures from the WILD fire approaching.
Thought BLM was Black Lives Matter for a sec! (and wasn’t surprised!)
This has been online for years.
That’s the Nomex shirt that every wildland firefighter wears. In some places the IC won’t even let media onsite without wearing one. Occasionally you see red, but those are generally prisoners working cutting firelines.
Looks like we’re the minority view here; that firefighters were trying to contain a very large fire against those who shout, “LOOK! The Gummint is VASTLY outta control!!”
Yep. The last couple of years the only reason my place is still standing is because of those guys in the yellow shirts.
I was just thing that you can bet your ass that they haven’t forgotten the Bundys.
Here in Indiana; we don’t have very many forest fires!
I did catch the corn stubble on fire one year when I was burning out my fence row. Had to get the local volunteer boys with their pickup and tank to knock it down.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't yellow protective suits make targets even better than blue helmets?
That's a possibility, and I think there might be a parallel drawn there with starting to remove THOSE WHO GIVE THE ORDERS to prevent the coming confiscation and oppression.
I live on the east slope of the Washington Cascades in timberland. Summers are hot and dry and the last 5 years have been pretty scary. There have been 4 major fires in the region destroying a couple of hundred homes, thousands of heads of sheep and cattle, and god knows how many acres of trees. Last year three firefighters were killed and one horribly burned when they were trying to bug-out and it was so smoky they drove their truck off the road and down into the fire. Two years ago we were evacuated for 6 weeks. My place is 5 acres bordering a national forest and is in pretty good shape because of the work I’ve put in clearing up fuel and keeping the trees healthy. I’ve gotten a lot of help from our fire district and DNR and really appreciate it. I’m on a ridge and it would be easy to attack a fire from the air, so they’ve used my place as a staging/rest/command area.
Good for you!
Keep those brave souls safe!
As a fella from Indiana; I'd thought that Washington was a vast, green forest.
Boy; was I surprised by the eastern half!
A lot of people think that. It’s not what you’d expect.
Indeed!
Played golf at Ephrata once. The ‘rough’ was broken up chunks of lava!
Great photo...good man!
They are cruel and sadistic to animals to meet their goals.
That’s why 80% of young elk are consumed in agony by wolves and grizzlies in Yellowstone, where the elk herd formerly numbered about
20,000 and now is beyond recovery at about 2000.
Ranching and hunting need to stop for their agenda 21 to move forward. Fishing will be soon behind those.
Used to live out there, King, Pierce, Thurston and Pacific county.
I was very sad to see the wildfires this last summer.
Especially for the people of Twisp who keep getting hit..
Bundy family membersvhave been harassed by the TSA too.
