Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)says if he's president, he'll have real estate magnate and current national GOP frontrunner Donald Trump on his team in more ways than one: working on trade and immigration.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Cruz says he'd bring Trump into his administration to negotiate trade deals. Last week, Cruz vowed on Jeffrey Kuhner's radio program that he would hire Trump to build the wall along the southern border with Mexico.
"There is no doubt that Donald Trump would be a phenomenal negotiator with China and if you look at TPP [Trans Pacific Partnership], I have come out against TPP, it is an incredibly long and complicated mess of a bill," Cruz told Breitbart News when asked if Trump would make a good negotiator for the nationâs trade deals.
It has more pages than the Gang of Eight amnesty bill and Obamacare combined. And I support free trade, but free trade that benefits American workersâthat opens up foreign markets to our products, to our agriculture, to our goods and services. There is no doubt that Donald Trump would be a tremendously effective negotiator to help open up foreign markets.
Earlier in the day, during a press availability in his Greenville office, Cruz reiterated he has no plans whatsoever..as many other candidates have tried but failed doing..to attack Trump.
âOh listen, I like and respect Donald Trump,â Cruz said when a reporter asked if he expected Trump to take aim at him now that at least one Iowa poll shows him ahead of Trump in the Hawkeye State. âI continue to like and respect Donald Trump. While other candidates..

Dear Ted, your vision for America is to have Trump do all the heavy lifting. What will you do hang out with Glenn?
That is real generous of Cruz, since he has never negotiated anything in his career.
That’s a big turn around for Cruz. From supporting TPA and TPP to recognizing Trump has a better handle on trade.
Still, Trump has been right on trade for at least 5 years. He was talking about it before the last election. Cruz has been right for a day.
Trump said he’d have Ted Cruz in his administration, Cruz returns the favor. It’s a mutual admiration society.
Reminds me of one of the Presidential debates back in the 80s. Somebody got asked a question on Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles and all the guys on stage deferred to Al Haig for the answer.
A good executive is never afraid of having competent people handle things.
Well, at least Cruz isn’t dissing him like the others.
Ah, see, Ted is reaching out to you guys, and you bite his hand.
-)
All,
We need strong leadership. Trump is that leader. Ted should learn from Trump.
Cruz will hire Trump to build the wall and negotiate trade deals. What Cruz doesn’t steal outright, he says he will hire Trump for—a backhanded insult.
Now I see Cruz talking about turning the desert to glass. Another outright steal, since Trump under intense pressure from the media, finally said OK, I’d bomb the chit out of them. He went way out on a limb for us, and now Cruz crawls along after him.
Next: Cruz will say he’s in favor of keeping Muslims out of the country. Or maybe he will say he would hire Trump to keep them out.
Trump supporters are always saying that Ted would make a great SC justice or VP. So... yeah.
Well, we now have an official reply from Ted himself.
I can see the headlines now when Trump as trade negotiator calls a foreign ambassador *a little twit* or some such nonsense. It will be sensationalized into the equivalent of a unilateral declaration of war.
