Much ado about nothing. The FN received about 28% of the vote nationwide, which means that 72% of the French electorate are still bent on committing cultural suicide. The socialists and the "mainstream" conservatives (like the Dems and GOPe) always team up in the runoff elections to defeat the FN. Whether a region or two goes FN makes little difference, since in the crucial 2017 Presidential contest, if FN makes the runoff, LePen would have to increase her vote % from 28% in the regionals to 50% plus one in the nationals. It's hopeless.Well said, marvel5.
I don’t believe this is accurate. While current socialist president is horrible then Sarkozy and his party (now called Republicans) are not as bad and he really hasn’t had a chance to show how he would have handled the recent Muslim invasion.
I don’t like the FN at all. It rose because of the failures of the other two big parties, but FN is filled with dodgy opportunists who have never been in charge of anything and coming from the position of never having had any responsibility and power allows them to promise the sky and stars to their prospective voters without having any idea how to deliver or even what governing really means.
