It’s only one poll, but there has been some very positive movement for Cruz in Iowa in a couple of them now. It’s showing that, for now, the ground game, full Grassely tour, and the endorsements are starting to pay dividends for Ted. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Cruz isn’t an utter Mr. Perfect either, though he has had a promising beginning.

There’s been a lot of awkward excuse making for him with respect to how he has handled political hot potatoes in the Senate, how it really was a strategic move &c &c.

What would really let a breath of fresh air into the situation would be something like Cruz saying he’s reflected on that, and in future he isn’t going to try to figure out which end of a poop is the clean one. And even further, if/when such a situation arises in the Senate and he actually acts in accordance with that. Count me out, I’m not going to vote to let this anti constitutional atrocity go forward.
