Trump: Even cheating spouse shouldn't stop Iowa caucus-goers
Daily Chronicle ^ | 12/5/15 | Thomas Beaumont

It's another weekend closer to the important Iowa presidential caucuses, and that's brought lots of the Republican candidates to the state that's first on the 2016 election calendar.

Front runner Donald Trump was at a rally in Spencer where he urged supporters to do all they can to make it to the caucuses on Feb. 1. A hoarse Trump said a strong showing was essential for his campaign and turning out is everything.

How important?

He told the crowd that even if the night before the caucuses, someone had caught their spouse cheating - well, they still needed to show up for the sake of Trump's candidacy.

Later, in Cedar Rapids,....

Just to be clear Vin, I am also a Cruz Supporter with Trump as a very close second. I have made that point clear on many occasions here.

That being said, none of the other so called Contenders are in same Universe, period. Cruz or Trump, I’m a happy guy.

Mrs. K.C. is 100% Trump which was a surprise to me because she is as Apolitical as they come. This will go down as the most interesting Campaign Season I have ever seen.

I'd prefer to see it on video for the context. It must have had a context.

Otherwise ... baffling.

Trump is very good at saying things without actually saying the thing.

In some circles, we call that "being catty."

Trump is so much smarter than people would think to believe.

You bet he's smart.

He's got you fooled ... for now.

I don't see how it helped Donald to go after Carson on a personal level.

I think I do, from his perspective.

It's because it's all Trump's got.

I’m with you- I like Trump— and frankly, I don’t want to see him implode because it will change the entire dynamic. I’m just hoping that Cruz slowly convinces people like your wife ( and my sister, and nieces, and...) that Cruz will give them everything that Trump is offering- with the added assurance- that Cruz will actually DO what their offering.

>>>You’re impressed by hot-headedness?<<<<

Well, since I haven’t seen any “hot-headedness” to be impressed by, I obviously can’t answer your questions.

When I actually see some, I’ll let you know if I’m impressed.

I have been pushing Cruz on the entire Family for years.

Never heard of him until some Friends of mine in Texas who know him and his Family personally told me to look out for him because he is the real deal and will go far. That was way before his Senatorial bid.

Until Trump came along, the Wife and In Laws could not have cared less about Politics. I bored them with my rants.

All of a sudden, my Wife just happens to start talking about Trump and you could have pushed me over with a feather. My 82 Year Old M-I-L hasn’t Voted in Decades, but she will Vote for Trump. Same goes for my Wife’s Sisters, and all of them are half Latina to boot.

I’m in CA and I know my Vote will mean nothing, but I have to admit that Trump will probably bring in Voters that Cruz could only dream about.

I can’t count the number of times when I mentioned Cruz that I didn’t get a response like, isn’t that the Guy who shut down the Government? The Media has done its Job on him and it sticks, but no matter how they try they can’t seem to do the same to Trump.

As I said earlier, either one will make me happy. There’s a long way to go and the GOPe is showing their Cards. I’m wondering who they hate most, Cruz or Trump.

You have to admit that this Campaign Season is something to behold. I have no idea who will make it with all the game playing going on behind the scenes. If Jeb makes it, the GOP is history, that’s for sure.

*************
I think that was what the Trump / Cruz meetings were about. Trump mobilizing his folks, Cruz prodding the 54M Christians that stayed home in 2012— they want to bring a new electorate to the polls in 2016— whichever is the nominee.

Taking it in on the east coast KC, catch you around..
