Denzel Washington Defies Hollywood- Speaks Out Against Obama Agenda

Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington recently defied liberal Hollywood by speaking out about his strong Christian faith.

Obama has consistently shown that he has a strong anti-Christian agenda, so Washington’s brave words have enraged Obama-lovers everywhere.

“I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word,” he told a reporter, adding that it was not difficult for him to grow up as the son of a preacher.

“He wasn’t a taskmaster, but there were certain things you couldn’t do,” Washington said. “He had his own church, and it was a long Sunday, because you had to be there all day.”

“Everyone I grew up with didn’t have a father,” he continued. “I had a father. My father was a decent man. He was a very spiritual man and a gentleman.”

Though today he is a strong Christian, in his teens he became rebellious after attending church started to feel like “a job.” That all changed in his 20s, when he had a personal encounter with God in the same church he still attends to this day.

“The minister was preaching, ‘Just let it go,’” Washington recalled. “I said, ‘I’m going to go with it.’ And I had this tremendous physical and spiritual experience.”

“It did frighten me,” he said. “I was slobbering, crying, sweating. My cheeks blew up. I was purging. It was too intense.”

Washington’s powerful experience left him with some serious questions.

“It almost drove me away. I called my mother, and she said I was being filled with the Holy Spirit,” he recounted. “I was like, ‘Does that mean I can never have wine again?’”

Ever since that day, Washington has been a proud Christian, even going so far as to consider becoming a preacher.

“A part of me still says, ‘Maybe, Denzel, you’re supposed to preach. Maybe you’re still compromising,'” he said during a 1999 interview.

In the end, Washington decided to stick to playing preachers in the movies. He did, however, offer some creative advice for staying close to God every day.

“Put your slippers way under your bed so when you get up in the morning, you have to get on your knees to find them. And while you’re down there, start your day with prayer. Ask for wisdom. Ask for understanding,” he said. “Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference.”

“No. I just hate the fact that you people hijack every thread to make it about Trump.”

If you’re not part of the “you people” you detest, then just who the hell are you?

I've enjoyed most if his movies, most particularly "Glory."

It's too bad we won't be seeing him in any future flicks.

That’s the answer

When you see the kennedys fading out as prominent statesmen you realize they never really were. They cannot be democrats AND Catholics. No way

Have a bunch of Irish catholic relatives northeasterners. They will not drop the democrat thing. Even the republicans are socially liberal. But they can’t be democrat and catholic. When I talk to them about anything that brings in faith. I tune them out

They chose democrat over catholic. And they are always on the wrong track about Catholicism.

They don’t own a catechism. No idea what goes on with tenets of the faith. But at least they refuse to find out. At least they know something is wrong

The shame is that they think they have to reject their faith to be good citizens

Washington is of the type that think they need to reject being a good American to have their faith

Guys in his position will never consider just being a conservative

It’s the liberals who won’t separate religion from state

The founding fathers made sure one could practice faith and be a good citizen. It’s liberals who are messing with that. As soon as they get rid of environmentalism then get rid of the altar of birth control and then recognize muz as not a religion then Denzel can talk about it. But then the dems will come up with something else to rule their flock of shee

Used to be union membership

I'm for Cruz and except for the fact you asked I wouldn't have invoked his name on this particular thread because it's not about him.

What I mean by that is. When you see them
Practicing their faith in public when appropriate at a funeral or so and then championing birth control, it is a scandal. Bad things happen. Not like a kid gets killed in a ski accident but struggle. Addictions failures a lack of grace and assistance

Cruz was my #1 pick before Trump announced and still is.

I really doubt Trump has anything to do with this.

“The Book of Eli” is an EXCELLENT movie with a very strong pro-God message.
