My home state is NY (I grew up there, and most of my family is there), and I lived in Boston for 22 years. Reagan won both of those states twice, and I'm quite sure Trump will, as well.
I could be wrong, of course. But I know "Reagan Democrats" about as well as anybody here does, and that's the basis for my optimism about Trump (and also the basis for my pessimism about Cruz).
I agree with you about the Reagan democrats but I think Trump’s appeal is far greater than just them.
I went to the Trump rally in Knoxville. It was held at the convention center which is very close to the University of TN campus.
I was astounded at how many college age people were there.
The turn out was upwards of 10,000 and I would guess nearly a third were in their twenties.
We went to dinner after and sat in a booth behind a table of college students. I eavesdropped, of course, and they were all talking about how much they like Trump and think he is the answer to the economy and their being able to get a job once out of school.
