Well that was a great rally and I'm glad Freepers posted a live link so I watched it! It definitely makes everything more real when you see one pf these rally's in person. People are waking and the movement is real.

This seems bigger than the original Tea Parties a few years back. People do want America to be great again and he may be our last best hope.

How are they disrupters if they say things which play to Trumps message, ie China is stealing our business?

You are not very bright. You seem to not be able to separate Trump the businessman from Trump the politician running for president. You have gone back to his “history” and the problem with that is he has no history as a politician and he has not before his candidacy gone into any depth regarding his ideas of where he would lead America.

As a businessman he must play the game with EVERYONE whether they be Rep/Dem/Lib or Con. He operates out of one of the most liberal cities in the country and has to deal with liberals in power all the time. He would get NOTHING done if he was publically anti everything they stood for.

Different times call for different approaches. Reagan with his style of 35 yrs ago worked in a nation totally different than it is today.

His style would not get him elected today.

He also had comfortably married parents. A father who took him to work with him from an early age. His father was also a high energy person. While he has had several marriages, he still seems to be on good terms with his ex wives, and even put one in charge of furnishing/finishing a major project.

Besides, humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself. Humility is thinking of yourself less.

And considering what he’s having to do in order to make this run, when he could very well rest on his laurels and be safe and rich somewhere, I’m not sure how much of Trump’s run IS ego.

And honestly, even if it is 100% ego, I trust that he’s smart enough to do what he says, because if he doesn’t then he’ll be hated and be booted out after one term.

‘’My biggest fear is the GOPe taking out a contract on him’’

Expanding on that thought, considering the close friendship between the Clintons and the Bush family, especially with Bush 41, all kinds of possibilities exist. The Bush money combined with the Clinton Mafia... ugly. Jeb is Hillary Light; who knows what’s going on behind the scenes re deals?

Every day we pray for Trump’s safety. If a Trump presidency is God’s will, the situation will work out in spite of all the evil aimed at him.

‘’I see no sign that Trump has the least bit of humility’’

God works In mysterious ways. He has used less-than-perfect people to achieve great things.

And do you really believe that Trump doesn’t get people to do great things? He’s been very clear that he hires the best people. If you haven’t heard that then you’re not paying attention.

Ok now let’s just change 1 word in your statement...
“Businessman to President” and then assume it’s Washington DC not NYC.
Now you have just communicated why a lot of people do not trust Trump.
Do you really think Trump is going to be any different as president as he was a businessman?

A lot of people here at FR (I believe) are worried about Trump not having many core conservative values.

Now let’s look at the last statement you made
“He would get NOTHING done if he was publically anti everything they stood for.”
Now Trump supporters are continually telling us Cruz can’t work with anyone...he isn’t liked in the Senate....he can’t get along, so he can’t get anything done.
Now with your statement you indicate Trump wouldn’t get anything done if he was publicly anti everything they stood for.

So which of Trumps campaign promises is he going to deviate from to get something done?

As Rush says, Cruz is the most consistently conservative candidate.
Now In fairness Rush does spend a lot of time on his program defending Trump. And for the record, I’m glad Trump is in the presidential race. Again taking some sentiments from Rush...Trump is providing a service.
Trump is sticking it to the establishment, and for that he gets my thanks.

But we have a conservative in the race that has core conservative values.
A conservative who like Reagan believes in free enterprise (sound conservative fiscal policies), a strong national defense, and pro family and social values.
And Cruz has a history of fighting for those principles.

No candidate is perfect, but why not support the most consistently conservative candidate?

Because he’ll lose 40 states? That a good enough reason? Trump will probably win New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania while Cruz will be stuck with Texas and Wyoming. Love Cruz but he’s not getting elected President without broader appeal than us right wingers.

BTW - it’s Dec 5th and I’m going to play today - unheard of here in NH ! You still getting out?

YEah, you nailed it. Vote for any of the others... Rubio, Cruz, Bush...yeah or better yet, just stay, which I’m sure you’ll do if the candidate is Trump.

I agree with you. I’ve been saying now for weeks that he has the potential of taking all fifty states... esp with a partner on board like Cruz.

************************************************************

In a word...YES I do believe he will be different. Trump did not become successful by being unable tom adapt (Politicians call this “evolving”) Trump is more intelligent by a factor of probably 5 times the average politician. Ok so that isn’t really saying all that much given the horses asses we have in Washington but still you get my point.

BTW I am far from anti Cruz and in fact would happily support Trump or Cruz EQUALLY should either be the nominee. My wish is both on the ticket and I don’t care in what order. However I doubt Trump would accept VP.

“A conservative Cruz who like Reagan believes in free enterprise (sound conservative fiscal policies), a strong national defense, and pro family and social values.”

All of the above are also a part of what Trump believes.

I have a question for you. If Trump is the nominee and Cruz is not asked to be his VP or else refuses if asked, will you vote for Trump?

You know in the RCP average Cruz and Trump are basically at the same percentages in a matchup against Hillary.
So at this point I disagree with you that Cruz is worse than Trump in that matchup.

It was a great rally. I’ve watched almost every stump speech and this was as good, if not the best, of all. While WRAL is as liberal as it gets, they did Trump a huge favor w/ their version of this speech. The videographer reacts to everything that happens and really gives an immersive quality to the speech...best coverage of a speech I have seen. Even if you watched the static version, this one is worth watching it all over again.
