I think that the Government of Saudi Arabia is the mother ship, and they sponsor the Brotherhood to enact their policy.
It may be that (to some degree or another) the Saudis have to fund them as a protection racket, but we really need to address both.
The great bulk of the mosques in the US were built with Saudi money.
