PITTSBURGH —An arrest has been made in the shooting of a cab driver in Hazelwood -- a case that the FBI was reviewing after a Muslim civil rights group asked the Justice Department to determine if it was a hate crime.
Pittsburgh police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Anthony Lamar Mohamed and said he was arrested Wednesday at his Hazelwood home. Mohamed faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Authorities said the 38-year-old Muslim taxi driver was shot in the back early on Thanksgiving morning. The Moroccan immigrant, who hasn't been identified, was hospitalized in stable condition.
"Undoubtedly, he's feeling pain and betrayal," Islamic Center of Pittsburgh executive director Wasiullah Mohamed said. "He came here to be American and he was shot."
"The city of Pittsburgh has the opportunity to show that it doesn't stand for this kind of violence. We're hoping that it steps up and does that now."
Police had no comment on whether or not the shooting was a hate crime, saying it was still under investigation.
"It’s not going to be a prolonged investigation," Lt. Vic Joseph said. "Still going through evidence. Once all evidence is investigated, it will be concluded.â€
Police said the shooting happened on Johnston Avenue after the driver dropped off Mohamed at about 1:40 a.m. The driver had picked him up at Rivers Casino.
Wasiullah Mohamed said the taxi driver told him that his passenger asked about his heritage and religion, and he told the man that he was from Morocco but is American.
Police say the suspect claimed he forgot his wallet in his house, and when he came back to the cab, he started firing. The back window of the cab was blown out, and the victim was hit in the back.

So I guess the normal violent crime rate is pretty much zilch? Or is it only a crime worthy of noticing because the victim was a Muslim, and when that happens it automatically becomes a hate crime?
After Paris & San Bernadino, you’d think Muslims would shut the hell up and try to stay below the radar, but alas they’re playing the victim card. I know what the game is: uing the PC police to shut you up is one way to force their “religion” into acceptance. Unfortunately there’s a lot of stupid people out there buying into it

OK, I did some digging, and it appears that all of the media is in on the cover-up of the victim’s name.

Yes. I posted a great about this earlier in the week before the shooter Mohammed was ID’d. I could’ve sworn the Vic’s name was Mohammed as week but it’s been scrubbed from every news source I could find.
It’s also interesting that when the victim was shot, he made no mention of the allegedly ethic and racial slurs that were allegedly used by the alleged shooter. Those slurs were only made known to the police once CAIR showed up looking to cash in on the victimhood card.

I am waiting for Kerry and Obama to say that the mass murders San Bernardino were “sort of justified” like Kerry said about the first Paris terrorist attack. After all, the Christian coworker provoked the poor Muslim.

What’s aggravating me right now is the way it seems some of the media are setting up the CA narrative so it will read like poor Farook was a double victim - a victim of bullying by his religious zealot co-worker, and a victim of the evil female who “radicalized” him. It's just like when CAIR said that some honor killings by a muslim father were likely a 'hate crime' (before the perp was named).
Yep. I remember hearing the initial reports and then nothing. Even at the time, the shooting sounded suspicious since the passenger went inside to grab his shootin' iron.
I followed an FR link to Buzzfeed and there was an article on this on the sidebar. The headline there omitted the nature of his name.
