I like the idea of Trump and Netanyahu restoring the strong relationship our two nations once enjoyed; but I was somewhat put off by a thread here on FR on Wednesday quoting Trump as saying that as POTUS, he would make every effort possible to strongarm Netanyahu into accepting some peace deal with the Palestinians.
The only reason there has been no agreement long since with the PLO is because the PLO doesn’t want one. What they want is Israel gone from the planet and themselves ensconced in the Holy Land.
Trump’s a smart guy. I can’t believe he’d have cockamamie ideas to pick right up where GWB left off and start twisting Israel’s arm again.
Hopefully, Bebe will sit Trump down and explain the Middle East facts of life to him.
Whoever quoted Trump as saying that was not correct.
Trump made it very clear in his speech that Israel has already given a lot. He has no intention of strong arming anyone.
