If he’s an American, then I’m not an American.
He is as American as halal food.
While teaching at Virginia Tech in 2013 Salaita became the center of controversy after writing an article in which he explained his refusal to endorse the “Support our Troops” slogan. Salaita stated that “In recent years I’ve grown fatigued of appeals on behalf of the troops, which intensify in proportion to the belligerence or potential unpopularity of the imperial adventure du jour”. He criticized what he called “unthinking patriotism”.
He’s a Muslim and an American.
Some people are Murderers and Americans.
Some people are Child Abusers and Americans.
His main point is pointless.
It was with much sadness that I witnessed your gleeful reaction when police named Syed Farooq, a devout Muslim, as one of the suspects.
The guy got fired from his job for anti Jewish tweets.
Instead of yammering about gun control, why don’t politicians of all stripes, start talking about putting criminals in prison, crazy people in hospitals or asylums, and terrorists 6 feet under. The issue of gun control would then resolve itself.
I guess it is easier to start taking away guns from law abiding people than to combat the real causes of murder and mayhem in the country.
OK, I took him up on his challenge. I took a look at myself. A law abiding citizen for all of my 60+ years, never harmed another soul, went out of my way to be kind to others, paid my taxes, got an education, worked an honest living for 35+ years, raised my family, took care of my parents, never considered or engaged in violence except as self-defense (a couple of fist fights at most), gave freely to church and charity, always tried to do the right thing guided by conscience and morality. Not saying I’m better or worse than anyone else, but I never contemplated getting an automatic weapon and assaulting a group of innocent people. And these people want me to look at myself and feel some kind of guilt? I say, stuff that noise.
The writer for this BS can go Farooq himself
The minute someone says “Let’s not compare Islam and Christianity” you know that even they have finally realized that the comparison is going to implicate the “wrong” side.
I have never understood why we post from Salon here at FR.
I went to the Salon site, and looked up Corporate governance, and looked at the photographs of they whom are the leadership of that magazine.
Leftists have a certain LOOK about them. I call that look “Vacu-head” If you look into their eyes you will see there isn’t a damned thing behind those eyes. NOTHING. They are a façade of humanity with nothing of value to add to the human experience. There are many perhaps’s, but I can’t find one single perhaps that actually is a reason.
I am sick of the left’s bulls*t. Let them wallow in it by themselves.
Salon.
I was gonna guess Salon. Or Slate. Because this sort of shizzit is even too stupid for the New York Slimes or the Washington ComPost.
Ah well. Brain dead mental defects have to go somewhere to post this kind of pukeage.
I didn’t bother to read it. I assume it’s one of those PC all-cultures-are-equal(ly-bad) screeds.
When Stevie can describe the difference between being Arab and being a Muslim he should be given back his pen.
Until then, he should do what he seems best qualified for. Picking peanuts out of his own crap.
You are in idiot. You just do not want to face the truth. Islam is evil and terrorism is part of its belief system. Quit trying to cover up evil.
This needs a “Projectile Barf Alert”.
Being an American citizen loyal to the Constitution is mutually exclusive to choosing to be a believer/follower of satan’s death cult known as islam.
Uh-hu, right, and I’m a chinese figher pilot.
