I have lived for decades in one foreign country and never heard or saw the term “BCE”, etc... I’ve lived elsewhere abroad too, but not as long - same experience.

This is a new thing, not something widely accepted and used. And it is being introduced by those who hate the Lord and don’t want to be reminded that we are in the year of our Lord since he has come and is risen.

No, it is not new, and isn’t being introduced by those who hate the Lord. To say that it is is just ridiculous.

BCE and CE are widely in use in scholarly publications, and have been for a long time (mid 19th century).

The number of publications not penned in European countries and other predominantly Christian countries (US, Canada, Australia, Latin America) used to comprise most of what got published, or at least most of what got read in the West, and BC and AD are still in pretty common use, but the former Soviet Union, China, and India are non-Christian countries (despite the agitprop from Pooty-Poot’s Russia) and generally use BCE and CE; Israel, while small, publishes a lot per capita; obviously Israel is predominantly Jewish, and Jewish use of BCE and CE started by the 1850s. The use of it has increased, but it is not new.
