Bottom line: Corn-fed ethanol is not more economical and causes no better emissions. It’s a tool for cronyism and government subsidies to promote the corporate welfare of farmers. That helps the crooked politicians and farmers but no one else.

Just what is a good reason to continue subsidizing farmers to grow corn for ethanol instead of using it for food?

• Does it reduce our dependence on oil purchases from terror sponsoring states?

• And even if we don't buy direct from terror states, does it reduce our total purchases of oil on the world markets, which in turn would reduce the price and purchases of oil from terror sponsoring states.
• Does it extend our supply of fossil fuels which are thought to be finite, by using a renewable source instead?
• Does it help build the infrastructure for the day where we need to find an alternative to oil?
