Oh much higher than that. In the area of a thousand a head. But to be honest all heads of state travel at that level — especially in Paris. Jefferson certainly did.

You are correct. And rarely given. Although the 3-star places are so weighted down with pomp and luxury and the food is ultra-refined that in fact they aren’t very much fun to eat at.
