The possessive of "Cruz" is not "Cruz'."

It's "Cruz's."

Not according to the Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation:

Rule: To show plural possession of a name ending in s, ch, or z, form the plural first; then immediately use the apostrophe.

Examples: the Williamses' car the Birche' house the Sanchezes' children

Not according to Fowler.

It’s apostrophe-S except in the case of ancient personages: Socrates’, Jesus’.

Ever notice the signs people put up in front of their houses? The Smith’s. The Brown’s. Worst of all: The Jone’s.

I wasn’t referring to the plural. “Cruz” is not plural!

The lefty rag quoted by Cooke used “Cruz’” as the singular possessive.

The singular possessive is “Cruz’s.”

The plural is “Cruzes.”

The possessive plural is “Cruzes’.”
