I appreciate the lesser of two evils argument -— but some common sense, timing, and context are also necessary.

We should never have gotten into bed with Stalin and should have fought the Nazis, the Soviets, and Imperial Japan. We sided with evil. Of course, we would have lost the war but a least we would not have failed the lesser of two evils challenge.

Note that I said “consistently” voting for the lesser of two evils. There will be exceptions.

I remember the shock I felt when Cheney said, “Deficits don’t matter.” Well, yes, they do, though not necessarily in the short term. But running deficits consistently results in a twenty trillion dollar debt which does, indeed, matter.

And consistently, the GOP has rolled over for the Dems to the point that Obama has run the country like a fiefdom.

I’ll vote for either Cruz or Trump. Anyone else, I’ll stay at home while the moderates label me as fringe. People get the government they deserve.
