Since Russia supports Assad who is the legitimate leader of Syria, then Assad could give Russia legitimate authority to do exactly as you suggest, shoot down Turkey jets that slip into Syrian airspace. In fact, that seems the most likely first outcome.

In fact, that seems the most likely first outcome.With the right MANPADS, the PKK could start shooting down Turkish Air Force jets and choppers in Turkish airspace.
