I find it hard to believe that the pilot was warned 10 times over that short stretch of land. How long is that stretch of land and how fast was the jet traveling. One could quickly calculate that even if Russia was there for a few minutes it would’ve been out very quickly and shooting it down was not necessary. Turkey is provoking a conflict with Russia

Comparing this map with Google Maps for scale the Russian jet flew across a section of Turkish airspace about a mile wide. Assuming two passes at 300 miles an hour that means that they were over Turkish airspace for about 24 seconds- and 300 MPH is slow for an attack jet with a top speed of over 800 knots.

Something about the Turkish story just doesn't add up, like who's airspace was the Falcon in when he engaged the Fencer? Were the Turks flying top cover for the Turkmen rebels?

Maybe some former Air Force guys can weigh in on how long it takes to line up on a target, get tone on a sidewinder and shoot. Looks like this had to go down pretty quick.
