He’s said that he thinks he’s never done anything that needs God’s forgiveness. Yet he courts Bible-believing Christians. This is politics, not the church. It’s the world’s government, not God’s Kingdom. And he may just be skilled enough to play on Christian voters, as Republican politicians so often do. He’s already mocked Ben Carson’s Christian conversion story, giving a secular psychological view of an angry person as someone who can’t be changed or helped. But that’s psychology speaking, not Christianity. Carson was essentially giving a Christian testimony, and it went entirely over Trump’s head. But again, this is secular politics. The things Trump does to help Christian values can be helpful. But if they are just politics on his part, then he doesn’t deserve more in return.
