Um, no, he had his passport. They didn’t care.

It will be interesting to see Avis documentation for their statement.

I’d been so tired of talking to customer service, I’d hired a taxi.

The Teva exec is a lawyer from what I read.

I wonder if Avis rents to people that can’t read the English road signs. I never thought about that. Heck, my family drove in the UK on the opposite side and that would have scared the jeebies out of me. They rented a car. I’m not sure if they got a quick traffic lesson on how one drives on the opposite side.

I did read the article.

He didn’t provide a passport to the customer service agent, despite one being required for rental according to company policy.

Look at the quote from the wife — “There was no way they would rent a car with that license. There was no way to reason with them.”

Yeah how totally unreasonable for the company to uphold their own policy and for the employee to request the documents she was taught to.

Later he later contacted the national offices on the phone, and *claims* he offered a passport then to clear things up and that it was denied.

Is that a credible claim? Not really.

One possibility is that a big shot exec threw a tantrum because an employee refused to violate policy, and by the time he got on the phone to national they figured out this arrogance and bullying wasn’t the kind of behavior they want to reward.

Another phony claiming discrimination when there wasn’t any at all? Probably.
