Are you kidding? He was SPECIFICALLY asked about Trump, and yes, it's his job to say "I agree with Trump's view" or "I disagree with Trump's view" to KNOW TRUMP'S VIEW.
Cruz above all people should know that the media lies. If you don't know what Trump said, your answer should be "I didn't hear what Donald said. I can only respond what my policy would be . . . ."
