SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Reddell Smith spent a decade roaming the streets of Syracuse with the 110 Gang, where he dealt drugs, shot at rivals and stole a car at gunpoint.
When he was arrested, Smith possessed a 9mm handgun that had been used in 12 shootings. His life as a gangster ended in 2011, when he was sentenced to 8 years and 4 months in prison ....
But now Smith and 46 other convicted Upstate New York drug dealers -- some of them members of violent gangs --have seen their sentences cut short as part of a federal initiative to reduce harsh sentences for nonviolent drug offenders....
The released inmates include at least two members of the 110 Gang in Syracuse, six members of the OGK gang (also known as the Original Gangsta Killers) in Albany, a member of the rival Jungle Junkies gang in Albany, and a member of the Four Block Gang in Schenectady.
The Original Gangsta Killers, one of Albany's most notorious street gangs, developed a reputation for routinely engaging in acts of assault, robbery and attempted murder against rival gang members.
Prosecutors said the gang was involved in at least 14 shootings in Albany from 2001 to 2009.

If the republicans don’t make a big f’n deal about Obama’s obvious desire to see American blood run in the streets of their own towns then they really should step aside and make room for a party that cares about protecting American lives.
All Democrat Party Policy followed to its logical end eventually results in the inevitable rape and murder of white women.
They should reconsider their massive support for that Party.
I am willing to bet today that a future upswing in ‘gun violence’ coming from these specific people will be used as a pretext to further restrict gun rights generally at some point. If by no other means than counting the shootings these people will commit in America’s ‘total gun murder rate’ and use the magnitude of that number to press for restrictions of rights.
