One of my closest friends was a flight attendant on a US Airways flight on the morning of 9/11, departing Washington DC. After all of the flights were cancelled and headed back to the gate because of the terrorist attacks, she walked through the cabin and told the few passengers on board that the flight was cancelled and they were going back to the gate in person. She told me they were three Muslims scattered throughout the flight all acting like they didn’t know each other. When she approached each of them and told them that the flight was cancelled for reasons unknown and they were going back to the gate each of them glared at her and then slowly turned and looked out the window refusing to say anything to her. I believe with all of my heart that this may have been thwarted attack.

Interesting. Did your friend take any notice of them later on? I’m just curious if they walked together through the airport or gave any indication of actually knowing each other, once their attack may have been thwarted.
