The very first task for a REAL “War on Terror” would be to get control of our borders.
You could have EVERY cop driving around in a Humvee and paint the sky black with helicopters, but if you still have out-of-control borders, then NONE of that would matter.
Would that single step be SUFFICIENT? Probably not, but...

when our leaders spend huge sums and quickly pass new War on Terror laws with breathtaking implications, that’s very, very noteworthy.
But when they do so while also not taking even THE BARE MINIMUM effort to control the southern border...
THEN IT IS EXTREMELY *SUSPICIOUS*.
Then the Prez begins admonishing his total resolution to CONTROL GUNS.
