Though Most Islamist fighters and groups, and those who go to learn to fight, all want to kill....there is a difference in what motivates them.....this narrows it down somewhat so people can grasp the differences.
‘RADICAL ISLAM’...encompasses a wide range of groups... Hamas,... the Muslim Brotherhood,.. Hezbollah, ...the Taliban, ...Al Qaeda - all of these are serious threats,....BUT Apocalyptic Islam is now the biggest threat... this is the Iranian leadership, ..this is ISIS.
‘APOCALYPTAIC ISLAM’....is a hyper-messianic ideology shared ‘by both sides’ of the ‘Shia-Sunni jihadist coin ‘....They believe the ‘end of days “ has come...that the Mahdi [ theMuslim messiah ] is coming at any moment to establish a global Islamic kingdom or Caliphate, and that the way to hasten his coming is to annihilate two countries: ...Israel the ‘Little Satan,’ ...and America the ‘Big Satan,’” these beliefs are shared by both ISIS and the “Twelver Shia” sect which figures prominently ‘among Iran’s leadership.’.. they believe they have to commit ‘a ‘genocide’....to bring about the end of times.”
The difference between Isis and Irans positions on apopolyptic is ...ISIS’s strategy is to commit genocide ‘today’... to build the caliphate.......Iran is NOT trying to build a caliphate today. They’re building the infrastructure to build nuclear weapons to commit genocide tomorrow. Their point is don’t launch until you’re ready. ISIS wants to ‘kill thousands’ in one day,..... Iran wants to eventually kill millions in one day via nuclear.
(BTW.... Dabiq, which lies around 10km (six miles) from the Turkish border, features in Islamic apocalyptic prophecies as the site of an end-of-times showdown between Muslims and their enemies.)
