INDIANAPOLIS - Several news outlets are reporting that a family of Syrian refugees bound for Indianapolis was sent to another state after Gov. Mike Pence's announcement this week that he was suspending plans to settle refugees in Indiana.
USA Today reports that the family was sent to New Haven, Connecticut instead. The New York Times also covered the story. Both outlets report that the family waited for three years in Jordan before being allowed to come to the United States.
It is the first reported incident where a family was redirected after over two-dozen governors declared they would not accept Syrian refugees in their respective states.
USA Today reports that a second family due to arrive in December is also being turned away.
The controversy follows revelations that one of the terrorist suspects in last week's deadly attacks in Paris traveled with Syrian refugees through Greece. President Obama has pledged for the United States to accept 10,000 refugees in 2016.
Meantime, House Speaker Paul Ryan says a Republican bill the chamber plans to vote on this week won't limit Syrian and Iraqi refugees admitted to this country based on their religions.
The Wisconsin Republican's description of the legislation contrasted with remarks by some GOP presidential candidates. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz have said preference should be given to Christians.
Ryan said that under the House bill, Syrian and Iraqi refugees could only be admitted to the U.S. if intelligence and law enforcement officials can certify that they won't be a security threat.
He says such precautions are common sense and the government's obligation to American citizens.
Most Democrats have defended current screening procedures, though some have called for a pause since last week's terrorist attacks in Paris.
Notice that the story is about a “family”.
I’ve seen few “families” in the pictures we’ve seen of those heading into Europe. Unless 15-30 year old men are breeding with each other and producing 15-30 year old male babies.
The family needed time for terrorism gentle orphan non-stabbing training...
And they all had to be reverted back to 3 years of age.
What’s wrong with Chappaqua, New York or Martha’s Vineyard?
‘What’s Obastard going to do to punish Hoosiers? ‘
Haven’t we been punished enough?
I’m waiting 3..2..1.. for this poor family to show up in CNN and mom and cute children in tears.
And some people on this forum will fall for it.
Why, certainly! Just axe the Muslim-In-Chief's spokehole, TheImportanceOfBeingAnEarnestLiar.
And they're gentle, too. And orphans.
He already tried manipulating voting machines and was caught.
Qualitative success.
That maybe the end of his political career. It will make a great campaign commercial next election.
Once they’re in, they’re going to go wherever they want. Unbelievable.
GOP Gov’s better hold strong on this & not cave! This will backfire bigtime for the RATs when all these “refugees” start wreaking havoc, just a matter of time..
Some other thread asked what’s the difference between illegals & these refugees..illegals want to mooch/leech off us (same as refugees) but not kill and destroy.
My first thought was they probably sent the one of the few legitimate families as a calculated move.

Paris - A father’s heartwarming explanation to his son about the Paris terror attacks is electrifying social media, with more than 27 million views on Facebook alone.
The video shows an interview conducted by a reporter for France’s Le Petit Journal in a Paris square where people are laying flowers and lighting candles to honor the 129 victims killed in the attacks.
The child tells the reporter the attacks were conducted by “bad guys” who were “not very nice.” He then expresses fear that his family will be forced to move, although his father reassures him they won’t because there are “bad guys everywhere.”
With his arm around his son, the father refers to the crowd at the square, and says, “It’s OK. They might have guns, but we have flowers.”
Malloy will greet them with open arms and fruit baskets.
After spending a few weeks in New Haven they’ll be ready to head back to Syria.
That’s what I’m talking about! Way to go Pence.
I love hoe even though our Governor said no to refugees, the Mayor of Dallas says he wants them.
