Apologies!!!

Until an analyst with access to the wreckage says otherwise, I'm going to stick with my initial proposed placement of that 1 Kg bomb:
1: Above the passenger deck (in the cabin volume; not in the hold)
2. In -- or just forward of -- the aft latrine.
3. Severed or drastically weakened the tail section, and almost instantly, that thing went from a flying aircraft to a porpoising, tumbling, falling, lethal pile of disintegrating junk.

My heart goes out to those poor people who had to experience that prolonged, violent, painful, deadly ride!
...with credit to Freeper, maggief...

I'm not quite ready to call, "BOGUS!", yet, but something about that doesn't look quite right -- especially the black blob on the right:
1) I have no idea of the V*I requirements to initiate that detonator, but if that blob contains batterie(s), they must be small ones.
2) Unless that blob contains an IC (555?) timer, the red & green LEDS have no function -- especially the red one ... '-)
3) OTOH, it is interesting that they would reveal a probably workable method of filling a drink can with plastique: cut around the bottom ridge, remove the bottom, insert plastique, and re-install the bottom using epoxy.

As I said, I'm not quite convinced...
