The Syrian government done nothing to us to warrant our involvement.

W Bush was sending terrorists to Assad's Syria to be "interrogated". So when did they become an enemy? When Assad's people fired on the Muslim Brotherhood?

Maybe she does things right, but she has a problem doing the right thing. No way do I trust her. She’s an updated women’s libber IMO.

Didn’t Assad’s problem with rebels really take shape after Obama/Clinton got the Muslim BrotherHood installed in Lybya and Egypt. Then they headed north to oust Assad and get the Brotherhood installed in Syria also.

Anyone could tell that their home boys were MBH.

When Americans foolishly elected an avowed muslim president was the moment everything started going to hell-literally!

I think if Trump corralled her and took her under his wings, she might be helpful to him. If she was onboard with his agenda and loyal to himp and conservatives, she is sharp and tough.

Yest Cruz is exceptionally smart, but I like him better as Attorney General and future Supreme Court justice.

ever if equally evil...

ISIS’s Islamic ideology is at its root, globally expansionist...

Assad is not, he is content to be a local petty dictator

Did we not support several tin-pot dictators in the 70’s and 80’s to halt the global spread of communism — back when the adults were in charge of foreign policy?

When Assad's people fired on the Muslim Brotherhood?

Bingo! Come claim your prize. The fight between the MB and the Assad regime has been going on for decades. In 1982 their insurrection in Hama resulted in the whole town, excepting Christian quarter, to be flattened and then cleared of survivors. Pour encourager les autres. This time the White House is being run by a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer with high level staff who are actual members.

Some of us have encountered Carly’s type in the business world. An intelligent and articulate incompetent whose primary skills are the ability to sound like they know what they’re doing, and time their exit from the scene before the main body of s#!+ hits the fan. That squares her appealing story and the persona she presents with the testimony of the people who were unfortunate enough to have worked for the companies she (mis) managed.

“Listen, we're enforcing this no-fly zone,” he quoted himself as telling Putin in that imaginary conversation on Jan. 20, 2017. “And I mean we're enforcing it against anyone, including you. So don't try me. Don't try me because I'll do it.”

Christie must watch a lot of cartoons.

How could anyone, who wants to be President, cast that kind of a challenge in the face of another world leader....a completely autonomous world ‘leader’ who, regardless of whether or not you agree with him, is at the head of a large, powerful army?

On immigration, Donald Trump's hard-line position was deemed extremist at first. But these attacks seem tailor-made to make his point, at least with likely Republican primary voters.

We need a new word for "stupid." It was never intended to describe the industrial grade cluelessness we see on display.

To see real threats before they are apparent requires vision. To speak up in the face of unrelenting criticism and ridicule requires courage. To say, "We will win. Follow me," requires leadership.

To oppose that requires a dysfunction I'm at a loss to describe. I see it among politicians and pundits of all stripes. I see it on this board.

When Obie was elected I feared we would see the second Carter administration. It's worse than even I thought. I feared we would see the ugly underbelly of academia, the ignorance and arrogance. I feared we would see real life examples of 'leaders' who, when faced with a reality not in keeping with their theories, would choose to ignore reality.

I feared America would have to learn by harsh example the folly of staffing a government with academics. The lessons are there; those who have eyes to see, let them see.

We can argue about purity and manners, but I have no doubt Donald Trump was made for this time and place. I have no doubt the cr@pstorm is on the way, and he has my support.

Except for Trump he always wanted to take out the oil.

I remember how he was mocked for that by those schooled beyond their intellect. What was once mocked as foolish is now policy.

Bashar Al-Assad is a dictator and a mass murderer.

No rational person would dispute that, and would probably throw in a few more insults, for good measure.

But, whatever he is, his opposition is worse.

----------------------------------------

I will because I am a foreign policy and history buff. It seems in the media they are conflating Assad the dad with Assad, jr - who was a place holder and a meek mannered guy looking to make peace with the USA and even Israel (admitted to by an Obama diplomat) and to liberalize his economy. The civil war is where this brutal tag gets pinned on him - but that is like saying Lincoln was a mass murderer because of the Civil War's large death toll (even if you don't like Lincoln it's not the case).
