The GOP in Colorado just doesn’t have good candidates and doesn’t care enough to return to power.

It skunked the gubernatorial election in 2014 it could have easily won.

No, I’m not holding out great hope for a Republican resurgence here in 2016.

I got involved in the Republican Part, even held a caucus. I was at the infamous meeting where the GOPe tried to bring in a carpetbagger candidate to run against someone they thought was too conservative (sorry, but can't remember who they were right now) but got booed, hissed, and voted down because the candidate didn't meet the residency requirement.

My take on Colorado is that the conservative core is too conservative for most Coloradans. There are a lot of independent folk who tend to be left-libertarians who are more afraid of the conservatives than the GOPe Chamber of Communism candidates.

The best that can be hoped for is someone like Ben Nighthorse Campbell who switched parties. A sort of Reagan Democrat lite.

Colorado did give us Tancredo, Bob Enyart, and who was that morning guy on KOA that was more-or-less conservative but lost me when he went all in for public funding of the stadiums?
