He is withdrawing because the DFL party leadership told him to do so. The party leaders knew that the Republicans would tie all DFLers to that statement. (Well at least Republican Strategic Thinkers should).
The media will drop this and never mention it again.
If a GOP’er had of said somethign stupid then dropped out, the media would have continued to tie every GOP candidate to him.
