After a week in which he hosted Saturday Night Live and stood center-stage at a Republican debate, Donald Trump is surging among Republicans likely to cast votes in the party’s presidential primary.

According to the five-day rolling Reuters/Ipsos presidential poll, Trump has leapt some 17 percentage points among likely Republican voters since Nov. 6, when he was essentially tied with Ben Carson at about 25 percent. Trump now captures 42 percent of those voters while Carson has fallen off slightly.

The rampage in Paris could very well push his numbers even higher, since most of the others are either amnesty stooges like Bush, Rubio, Carson, or are rather quiet on the issue. Trump is the only one talking about deportations, and stopping the border chaos.

” It’s obvious that he is the only candidate who gets the danger that all of these illegals and muslim imports bring to our way of life”

Cruz does too,but his chances of winning the primary are small, and probably even smaller against Hillary compared to Trump.

Would love to see Cruz as VP and then appointed to the Supreme Court.

Why Trump had removed his tweet that he is leaving for Texas?
Security concern ???

If Trump is smart he’ll start tying Huma and Hillary to the Muslim Brotherhood/sisterhood. Lay off carson and go after his real opposition.

And the immigration issue is THE ISSUE of this election, especially after the Paris massacre. Trump owns the issue and now owns the election, IMHO.

I'm sure the events in Paris yesterday put these issues even more on center stage.

Leadership in both parties have shown they have utter contempt for the American people. It is bad enough pushing amnesty and more illegal immigration for the La Raza crowd, who have just mere contempt for this country and just want to milk it for all they can get.

It is quite another level of evil in pushing it for the Muslim hordes who want us dead a.s.a.p.

You’re right; it’s gone. What a strange comment to delete. Your speculation is the only one that makes sense.

Very Well Said! We have a Neville Chamberlain who has just negotiated our demise with the Muslims that is a replay of the Munich Accords. That ANY American would even consider any of the weak kneed Pacifists crowding the primary is beyond me. I see only one Alpha Male which is what we must have to save the Republic and that is Donald Trump!

“Le Pen is going to do pretty well here in France in a few weeks.....”

France needs a Vote of No Confidence in Hollande and have elections now, not in 2017. They need LePen now.

Could've been at the Secret Service's recommendation. I suspect we won't see many detailed messages regarding the travel itinerary from here on out.

I was one who questioned Trump’s seriousness. He had teased a run before.

Once he filed his financials I knew he was not only in, but in to win.
I wasn’t sure how the public would take his hundred percent New York personality.

I have been pleasantly surprised. Not only has his yankee bluntness not hurt him, but it has likely been a positive.

He could still implode, just like any candidate.
We’ll see.

Just my opinion, but yesterdays Paris slaughter may shoot his numbers through the roof.
He has been more outspoken on the borders than anyone else.
Even my guy Ted.

If Cruz had gotten a little help in the Senate, Trump may not have had such a big issue to run with.

We will see what we will see.
