He might have some out of the world theories on his own, but I would not call someone who has performed THOUSANDS of life saving surgeries and someone who managed a group of medical experts in order to successfully separate conjoined twins a wack job.
The great scientist Isaac Newton had a lot of strange theories regarding the Bible. That does not make him any less a great scientist, nor does it lessen his accomplishments.
