A good philosophical education develops skills in thinking and analyzing the world. There are many fields where this is useful. Many philosophy departments don’t do this, or spend a great deal of time on flawed ways of doing it without articulating the flaws, but the practice in thinking can still be useful.
Thinking is great; problem solving is better.
