An Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet) survey published Tuesday blamed the latest wave of Arab terror in Israel on a sense of despair among the Palestinian Arab population.
According to the ISA, while incitement is a major contributor in prompting terrorists to carry out attacks, their motivations lie in a "national, economic, and personal sense of deprivation."
There is no "clear political-organizational framework, coherent conceptual plan of action, or organized leadership" leading the attacks, the ISA said.
"For some of the terrorists, the attacks allow an escape from a discouraging reality which they perceive cannot be changed."
According to the statistics, 90% of the terrorists are male, with only seven women conducting attacks in the latest terror wave. A full 82% of the terrorists are aged 16-25.
Palestinian Arabs from Judea-Samaria performed a majority of the attacks with 72% residing in that area. Another 23% of the terrorists are residents of eastern Jerusalem, while only 5% are Arab citizens of Israel.
The ISA also noted that 62% of the attacks occurred in Judea-Samaria, while the rest were conducted over the 1949 Armistice line.
The report further adds that "the activity of those Palestinian youths, who are driving the present terror wave, is not organized but rather spontaneous and popular."

Sometimes self-realization can be quite upsetting!
Whatever shall we do? We build nothing. We do nothing. The whole world sympathizes with us, but those @#$@ Joooos! still won’t commit suicide for us so we can crap up their country and piss on their corpses. I know! Let’s go attack some Jooos! with knives so that they shoot us! That’ll teach ‘em about being happy and productive.
I blame it on the Koran and the Imam’s. But that can’t be. That would make too much sense.
“What a crock.”
Agree. And it’s just another indicator of the frightening trend of Israel’s security services coming under the sway of progressive liberal thinking: they look for the “root causes” of barbarian violence so they can understand why barbarians act like barbarians. The pre-ordained response is always found in the fault of the victims for causing the barbarian to act like barbarians.
Usually shooting barbarians calms them down.
Is lama phobe. What do you have against lamas.
Nothing against lamas my FRiend. But unlike a lot of American’s, I didn’t forget WHO flew the planes into the twin towers on September 11th. And I definitely don’t believe that fairy tale about “moderate muslims”.
Only if you put enough rounds into them. ;)
Preferably large bore.
Y-you mean...it was the Dalai Lama?
Only if he shouts Allahu Akbar.
Hasn’t there been a left-utopian influence in modern Israel since the beginning? Not picking a fight here, genuinely curious.
Of course. Israel was founded by very idealistic youngsters, and whatever was fresh and unproven, they believed in. As time went by, the Soviet Union collapsed. Socialistic governments stagnated. But the idealists still clung to power, in defiance of reason and facts. They’re still there, brain lodged firmly between two lower cheeks, still bitterly clinging to outdated idiocy.
I think there are points on both sides. However, in the earlier years of the State, idealism yielded to the imperatives of security. If a spy operation had to be carried out, it was carried out with ruthless efficiency. Think of the reaction to Munich, how they chased down the culprits and knocked them off. Or even as late as Entebbe: they didn’t conduct a navel gazing exercise trying to figure out what the terrorists wanted. They went in, killed them all and brought our people home. Period.
