Donald Trump said Wednesday that would have room for Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) in his presidential administration.
"[He is] a very good guy," Trump said when asked about the fellow presidential candidate, according to NBC News.
"There could certainly be a place for him," he added when a questioner floated Christie as Trump's potential running mate in 2016.
Trump was appearing in Manchester, N.H. for one of the Granite State's Politics & Eggs events. NBC News said Wednesday that the business mogul addressed a wide range of policy issues.
Among the topics he discussed were education, immigration and even the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA).
"Nothing [is] more important than higher education and education in general," Trump said. "It's so important to our economy.
"It's great," he said of NASA. "You know, in the old days, it was great.
"Right now we have bigger problems," the real estate tycoon added. "We've got to fix our potholes."
Christie and Trump both spent Tuesday night in Milwaukee for the fourth GOP presidential debate.
The two men were separated into different portions of the contest, however. Christie appeared in the undercard event because he did not meet Fox Business Network's minimum polling threshold for the main stage.
The New Jersey governor made the most of his spot by fiercely criticizing Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
"I saw the most disgraceful thing of the campaign a few weeks ago," Christie said. "Hillary Clinton was asked the enemy she was most proud of and she said, 'Republicans.'
"In the world where we have al Qaeda and ISIS [Islamic State in Iraq and Syria], the mullahs in Iran and [Russian President] Vladimir Putin, the woman who asks to run and represent all of the United States says her greatest enemies are people like you in this audience and us here," he added, citing Clinton's remarks during the first Democratic presidential debate on Oct. 13 in Las Vegas.
Trump, meanwhile, took center stage during the Republican contest's main card in Milwaukee. He earned approximately 24 percent of the event's Twitter traffic, edging out the seven other competitors on stage.
You really can't be that ignorant, can you?
Are you totally unaware of Trump’s long record of being anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-socialized medicine, etc. or are you so naive as to believe he has suddenly and radically changed all his views?
I've taken the time to listen to the debates, watch his stump appearances online and purchase and read his book.
Unless he's the biggest liar on the planet, he's a far better conservative and candidate than Bush, Kasich, Rubio, Christie, Paul, Carson & Fiorina.
I've taken the time to do the research rather than having your knee-jerk reaction.
Look at his record...he is “the biggest liar on the planet”. Well maybe not the biggest, but there is no rational reason to trust that he is now a Conservative.
Just wow. Wait for what? There will never be a time that all the troubles on earth will be taken care of so then we can invest in space.
The nation that rules space, rules the planet.
We should be going all-out to remain firmly in the lead in space technology and space exploration.
Trump fixing all the potholes while China and Russia claim the moon their own ... er, "put another man on a dead planet."
Yet another reason to be very leery of Trump.
I said private industry needs to bring forth space exploration not govt. I also said that until somebody comes up with a propulsion system superior to duct taping an M80 to a tin can space exploration is not feasible.
So do you think we just have the USS Enterprise with Scotty manning the engine room ready to go to Mars? Aye kin give ye no more an Warp 5 Captain. :-)
Well, then enjoy Hillary for 8 years with your mind sealed like a tomb.
I'd prefer a better option. Cruz would be the only one other than Trump that can give us something different. Any of the other GOPe would be just more Obama/Bush garbage.
Now all you pragmatists out there can write it off as "the cost of doing business" for Trump, but just you remember the guys who signed the Declaration of Independence. If they had taken Trump's approach, the "cost of doing business" would have been to support the Crown; instead, these guys not only risked their business profits, they risked their property and their lives.
Trump is an American patriot who nonetheless at least up until very recently has donated and supported Democrat politicians who advance pure government tyranny, and he did it for his own financial gain and the gain of his stockholders. Now he aspires to lead this great nation created by men put their own financial gain well aside in order to stand by the political principle that created the greatest nation on earth.
Truly, folks -- consider this about Trump and ask yourself -- if Dubya, Romney, Dole, or any other Republican political candidate donated as much of his hard-earned money to Democrats as to Republicans over the years, would you even consider voting for him? Hell no!
So ask yourself -- why is Trump not getting the same "Hell no!"?
So yeah, this time around, please, CW, stay true to your trash and keep trashing Trump.
NASA is awful right now, but that can be fixed. In an endeavor such as space exploration, especially considering that the nation that dominates space WILL have military/defensive/offensive dominion in the world, means that yes, this is one area where indeed government should be involved.
I like Ted Cruz's take on it, myself. As for the idea that private industry needs to bring forth space exploration, the only chance of them being able to do it profitably would be for a guy like Cruz to come along and annihilate all the government agencies that today make it a losing proposition.
Take your USS Enterprise with Scotty snark, sit on it, and rotate. :-)
“Take your USS Enterprise with Scotty snark, sit on it, and rotate. :-)”
Aye aye Captain lighting the M80 fuse for takeoff. :-)
Do you have any clue that we still have the same basic propulsion system we had in the 60’s? China and Russia are not any better. Its a joke. We and they are not going to be doing any space exploration anytime soon without a breakthrough.
Private Industry will hopefully at some point invent, patent and build for profit a real Captain Kirk spaceship. Then we can go play in the stars. :-)
If your business depended on the largess of whatever party was in control, you would probably do the same.
If you were telling me that he gave 75% to Rats and 25% to Pubbies, you would have more of point.
He builds hotels, resorts and casinos. Is it any wonder that he gave money to Harry Reid, the Senator from Nevada?
He’s pragmatic, not dogmatic. Part of his appeal, if you ask me.
Oh, BTW, GO CRUZ!!!
In politics, it means betrayal.
After we win that war, then we can go play in the stars.
One other thing -- I suspect with good reason that the U.S. military has a lot more going in space technology than is publicly known.
good one
Not possible in many industries.
If you are in construction and the "right" people do not like you (or like your competitor better) you may wait much longer to have your buildings inspected.
I sell imprinted sportswear. One of my biggest clients is a county agency. Once a year they come around for my sponsorship of their calendar they use for fundraising. Should I not contribute, I am sure that my competitor would contribute and would subsequently become their supplier.
We may not like it, but it is the way it works.
The failure of the Republican party and the gutless wonders and backstabbers we keep throwing up into Washington is just further proof of the failure of that path.
I want something different.
It's one reason I think it's a big mistake to assume a businessman would make a good president. Government is different from business, and SHOULD be different than business. It should be totally divided from it, as well as any business mindset.
A businessman seeks growth and prosperity in the organization he runs. A politician with a political compass that says, "Government is the problem, it should be very limited in its scope," seeks the opposite.
Again -- the guys who signed the Declaration of Independence were businessmen making a living, and it would have benefited their bottom line to go along with the Crown. They put business aside and put politics above everything. And we have the U.S.A. today because of it.
Choose it carefully. And heed my tagline.
