Poor Jeb Bush. He needed a triumph in Tuesday nightâs debate to do something to turn around his degenerating campaign â something dynamic, something memorable, something powerful.
Bush was substantive. But so was Marco Rubio.
He was detailed. But so was Carly Fiorina.
He was serious. But so was Ted Cruz.
He wasnât out of his depth, the way Ben Carson was when he talked about foreign policy and banking policy â in a series of answers that gave new meaning to the word âincoherence.â
He wasnât bizarre, the way Donald Trump was when he said we should have taken âbig chunks of oilâ from Iraq and given those big chunks to wounded veterans.
He wasnât rude and interrupting and wildly discursive, the way John Kasich was.
And he didnât assert that it was a violation of conservatism to increase military spending from its current historical lows, the way Rand Paul did.
He made no mistakes. But, alas for him, he was boring. And, for better or worse, no one else on stage was. This was Bushâs best debate, and thatâs a big problem for him, because it was only really good if you contrast it with his previous performances.
Candidates must inspire as well as reassure â must generate enthusiasm as well as policy. Itâs now clear that Bush does not know how to inspire and he does not know how to generate enthusiasm.
Bush has a super-PAC with a lot of money to spend and media that would love to declare him the Comeback Kid because weâre bored by the insider-outsider story thatâs been the tale of the campaign thus far.

...and another one bit the dust...
Fighting for the “rights” of illegal alien invaders wasn’t a very good idea. Calling deportation of the invaders “un-American” really pissed off those Americans worried about AMERICAN children and AMERICAN jobs.
Well, he was especially annoying - along with his amnesty twin Kasich.
WOWZA! He looks like a marionette. Invisible strings?
He’s special alright. Special as in “long ride on a short bus”.
Let’s say that Jebbers did have a great debate performance. Would that have given him much needed traction in the polls? Doubtful-— Jeb was predicted to make the Superbowl but now he’s struggling to obtain a wild card spot.
We need a green eyeshade, red pencil president who will focus on getting the government back to its constitutional role. We don't need another celebrity president who can't stop saying "I....I....I....I" all day long.
Boring, and wrong on the issues like Jeb!, is a pretty poisonous combination though.
How’s this cross eyed goober going to win when he has to explain why the bushes and Clinton are in bed together?
