Purebreds are usually sensitive. I had a mutt that was allergic to fleas. She bit off the end of her tail. We woke up in the morning to a puddle of blood. They didn’t have Frontline back then.

I've seen this before in dogs. Is the prednisone (or whatever the steroid he got) helping any?

Try mixing the benadryl with ice cream, that might work.
