This whole Starbucks issue is just silly. They’ve never had “Merry Christmas” on their cups. They have holiday cups that the design changes yearly. No-one has told their barista’s to not say Merry Christmas. They even sell Christmas gifts there.
As for the CEO stating what you have said, that was completely fabricated. He had one of his shareholders argue with him over gay marriage.
His statement was exactly this, “If you feel, respectfully, that you can get a higher return than the 38% you got last year, it’s a free country. You can sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company. Thank you very much.”. HIs reply was based soley on business.
Starbucks is sold all over the world. I’ve personally seen them in Brazil, Mexico and Japan. Their marketting is done in the USA. They are not a Mom and Pop shop anymore and try to please the majority to keep sales up.
The guy who started this whole “controversy” is a troll. He is just looking for his 15 minutes of fame and we have given it to him. That being said, he looks pretty stupid.
If you don’t like the coffee, don’t drink it. It’s very simple. The color of a cup shouldn’t be the answer though. I don’t recall seeing scripture on any other coffee chains cup. I may have missed it in my travels though....
Here’s a link to Howard Schultz’s smarmy, condescending statement on gay marriage in its totality.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaCfvr9EFKs
In it Schultz makes clear that the decision to support gay marriage was to embrace diversity, and he got thunderous applause, and admitted it was not an economic decision. It was a political decision. He is using his business as a pulpit to advance leftist causes.
And Starbucks does not embrace diversity. They only embrace leftist causes which they wrap in the mantle of embracing diversity. Embracing diversity is an uttlery bankrupt concept in and of itself. Do they embrace thieves and hire them? Do they embrace arsonists and hire them? Do they knowingly hire spies from competitors who want to know more about how their business is run? Do they go out of their way to hire Christians in Muslim nations and Hindu nations and Communist nations — and then go very publicly stating they have done so? No, no, and no.
Starbucks has a long list of left-wing preening and grandstanding. For example, they also had baristas engage in conversations on race — another leftist disaster.
Plus they are against the Second Amendment. Remember the thing about don’t bring yor gun to Starbucks?
The CEO is a pompous leftist know-it-all. I would never support his business based on that, irregarless of whether this Christmas coffe cup was made up or not.
In fact, it is the CEO’s long history of pushing leftist causes that makes people believe the phony story about Christmas coffee cups.
Not only do I intend to NOT drink Starbucks ever but to encourage others to steer clear of the place because the profits they generate are being used against them all around the world.
Indeed, Schultz sounds like a wanna be George Soros. To hell with him and his coffee!
