Missouri player says many on team don't support practice boycott
ESPN ^ | Nov 9, 2015 | Brett McMurphy

A Missouri Tigers player said Sunday night that the entire team is not united over the decision to stop practicing until grad student Jonathan Butler ends his hunger strike.

"As much as we want to say everyone is united, half the team and coaches -- black and white -- are pissed," the player, who wished to remain anonymous, told ESPN. "If we were 9-0, this wouldn't be happening."

One day after black players threatened to boycott football activities in the wake of racial unrest at the school, Missouri coach Gary Pinkel tweeted, "We are united."

The player, who is white, spoke on the condition of anonymity because coaches told the team not to talk to the media as they thought the situation "would blow over eventually."

Butler began a hunger strike last Monday, saying University of Missouri president Tim Wolfe should step down after failing to respond to student concerns about racial tension in the wake of several on-campus incidents.

On Sunday, coach Gary Pinkel and athletic director Mack Rhoades issued a statement that Missouri did not practice Sunday and indicated "it was clear" the Tigers "do not plan to return to practice until Jonathan resumes eating."

I saw Spurrier was in Lincoln, even wearing a Nebraska jacket.

My first thought, was, he’s still trying to figure out how to tackle Tommie Frazier.

This DAWG fan will tell you it is a big deal for a first year coach to win the East.

Sort of like when A&M used to use walk ons for kick off teams. Worked like a charm to increase fan interest!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s certainly an improvement over what UF has had, but in normal years, Florida would have been at least 3rd in the East. We will get better though, once we find someone who can actually play quarterback.

Hopefully now they’ll get off of Riley’s back and give him a chance.

What bothers me about this is that it was a swastika drawn on the bathroom wall....which ought to disturb Jewish players the most....EXCEPT the team doesn’t have a single Jewish player as far as I can see.....so the black players hustled up and claimed that they are bothered by it. If you asked any of them to explain the full name of the German political party involved....they’d just look at you and suggest it was some Alabama political party.

Actually the biggest story in College Football this year is Navy. 7-1, and just beat Memphis and has an excellent shot at winning the All-America Conference. Their only loss was to Notre Dame and they were in that game for a good part of it before ND put them away.

“Other than the feces Swaztika, I’ve not found any information on the other incidents?”

Odds are it’s a false flag incident anyway.

Good news for MU. Let those.guys keep their scholarships and send the rest home, after firing coach Pinkel.

It is reported that the president of The University of Missouri is a flaming liberal.

It is hard to feel sorry for him.

My kids are recent grads from MIzzou. Their observations are quite different than the BLM-driven ‘protests’. For one, the recent crackdown on fraternities relative to sexual assault is a red-herring that covers up countless unreported assaults by black athletes. Second, a small percentage of the minorities, many of whom likely were waivered in, have effectively brought the ghetto to Columbia… thuggish behavior, entitled attitudes. Giving in will only result in perpetuating the myth that affirmative action works and will drag Mizzou and many other certain-to-follow schools down to the lowest common denominator.

cancel their athlete dining room ID cards

LOL Put them all on a hunger strike.

Better warn the local grocery stores, especially the crab leg counters.
