Legendary US Army Commander Says Russia Would "Annihilate" US In Head-To-Head Battle
Zero Hedge ^ | 7 Nov 2015 | Tyler

Late in September, we brought you "US Readies Battle Plans For Baltic War With Russia" in which we described a series of thought experiments undertaken by The Pentagon in an effort to determine what the likely outcome would be should something go horribly "wrong" on the way to landing the US in a shooting war with Russia in the Balkans.

The results of those thought experiments were not encouraging.

I agree. We can put nothing past him. He is truly evil and we must expect many more evil things from him.

Would be great to hear his thoughts today, a year later, and after so much has changed. :-)

Best of luck to you; stay safe!

We are already up to our necks in doodoo. A major war is the last thing we need right now. Unfortunately, our adversaries know this as well.

Not if they engaged at over 75 yards.

"Another vulnerable area of ‹‹the United States from the geophysical point of view, is the San Andreas fault - 1300 kilometers between the Pacific and North American plates ... a detonation of a nuclear weapon there can trigger catastrophic events like a coast-scale tsunami which can completely destroy the infrastructure of the United States."

All B.S. A nuke won't result in a tsunami on the West Coast. Not that type of fault. The San Andreas fault slips north and south, no tsunami will result at all. And a nuke probably won't trigger an earthquake, as the fault is deep underground beyond reach of a nuke. And if an earthquake happened, it would be localized in a small area and not the entire length of the fault.

You may have the modern Kalashnikovs confused with the AK47.

“I totally agree. It will asymmetrical. They will attack the economy. They will disrupt the internet. they will attack satellites. They will use EMPs, then conventional nukes.Yellowstone will be the target. The entire continent and 99% of its inhabitants will be destroyed within 96 hours. Then on to Israel.”

Don’t forget abut fluoride and our precious bodily fluids.

four battle scenarios, all of them against a Russian adversary in the Baltics - what one currently serving war planner on the Joint Chiefs staff calls "the most likely warfighting scenario we will face outside of the Middle East."

Why is the Baltic such a powderkeg? And what Baltic nation (besides Poland) is worth fighting for?

You may have modern M4s confused with old M16A0. My statement was more factual and less ignorant than yours was. I own a couple of the 5.45 rifles and they are not noticeably better at hitting stuff far away than my 7.62 AKs are.

Tell that to Dwayne Johnson :-)

I find the possibility of triggering the San Andres fault by a nuclear bomb doubtful, as well. If it can be done, the Russians are the ones for the job however, since they've built and tested the world's largest nuclear bomb. Designed capability of 100 megatons, the lead scientist supposedly dialed it back to half that out of concerns a massive amount of radioactive fallout would be released.

I would think triggering a volcano a more likely possibility.

Perhaps it might be better, Mr. President, if you were more concerned with the American People than with your image in the history books.

Cool. Hang out with your Direct Inpengement massive failure. 12 out of 30 of your guys will be busy with clearance drills while they get flanked and slaughtered. I’m not Russian, just realistic.
