I expect to hear it from socialist college professors and Che Guevara t-shirt wearing coffee house loiterers. But to hear it from conservatives with actual jobs is a painful reminder of the ease with which the media have convinced Americans to shut off their minds and allow pundits to do the thinking for them. “I’m worried that Ted Cruz is too extreme.”
During the night, someone did a job on the word “extreme.” It ain’t what it used to be. We learned this week that the official position of Obama’s Department of Education is that men should be able to infiltrate your daughters’ shower facilities in high school gymnasiums if only they claim to feel like women. How ext. . . extr. . . extraordinarily enlightened!
Who is extreme? Ted Cruz is extreme because he fought to keep the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance. Do you know someone who has fallen for it?
When someone parrots the claim that Ted Cruz’s beliefs are too extreme, be assured that before you stands a person who hasn’t given three minutes of thought to the subject. Let’s consider a few of these “extreme” views.
- Senator Cruz is so extreme that he refuses to shrug off our $1,000,000 per minute accumulation of new debt. He has spoken out against wasteful, lavish federal spending and has condemned the practice of financially enslaving our children and grandchildren with trillions of dollars of debt to which they–being either too young or too nonexistent–could not consent. Since when did objecting to spending 140% of your income become extreme?
- Cruz believes that five robed rogues ought not be permitted to overturn a definition of marriage that has been in operation since the dawn of human civilization, across every culture, and on every continent on earth. Is wishing to restore the will of the people extreme? Or are the judges the real extremists?
- Cruz believes it is evil to grab hold of a living and fully-developed baby, extract her body from the womb while leaving her head inside her mother, puncturing her skull, sucking out her brains, crushing the skull, and tossing her in the garbage disposal. He even went so far as to convince the Supreme Court to uphold a ban on this practice. He believes human life is worthy of protection. Scary extreme!
- He has condemned the Obama administration’s practice of sending billions of our dollars to enemy countries that foam at the mouth and chant, “Death to America!” Where are you on that one?
- Similarly, Cruz has openly stated that we need to produce our own energy, thus supplying jobs to Americans while simultaneously reducing our dependence on countries that hate us.
- Cruz states that business owners should be able to run their companies without the federal government putting unnecessary obstacles in their paths. When did freedom become extreme?
- Senator Cruz has repeatedly offered that since we have a Constitution, we ought to abide by it. He doesn’t believe presidents who swear to uphold the Constitution should be above the law, granting exemptions to the laws they pass, circumventing the legislative branch, and imposing their personal whims on 330 million people. We’re supposed to think there’s nothing extreme about the one who urinates on the Constitution. Save that label for the one who objects to it.
- When proven terrorists threaten to invade our soil and murder us, Senator Cruz thinks that our refusal to seal our borders is a policy that should be reconsidered. He’s just like those extreme people who live in rough neighborhoods and lock their doors at night.
- Cruz publicly called out the Republican leader of the Senate for lying to his colleagues. He, along with Sen. Mike Lee, also took on his own party when GOP senators attempted to trick the American people into thinking they had nothing to do with a debt limit increase. Don’t you just hate extreme integrity and honesty?
Maybe you are saying: “Wait a minute now. Ted Cruz seems to think just like I think.” Guess that makes you an extremist too.
You are left with two options. You can permit the leftist media to do your thinking for you and join with those who label Cruz as an extremist, or you can think for yourself and say, “If Ted Cruz is extreme, it’s exactly the kind of extremism our country needs.”
Ted is who we need.
We do not need anyone to define who is extreme.
Sen. Ted Cruz is an extremely intelligent and patriotic American!
Sen. Ted Cruz is extremely well-versed and protective of the Constitution!
I’m 100% for our Texas Senator Cruz.
Unless something different happens,he has had my vote all along. We need a little “extreme” right now to offset the mediocrity we’ve been getting for the last few years.
100%? That sounds extreme! ;-)
They said the same thing about Reagan, and he won with record landslides --twice.
And look at the "winners": Romney, Bush, Dole, etc.
Yay.
I’ve been known to be extreme. LOL!
So was Ronald Reagan, if you recall.
GO, Cruz!
Yes he is! A Cruz-Trump or Trump-Cruz ticket would be grand in every sense of the word. Trump surrounds himself with very successful/smart people and Cruz knows the political ropes of our government plus, the man is also very smart. Both men respect our Constitution and would follow its rules completely. Obama has been mendacious in his sworn promises.....Hillary comports herself with Hi-def in the same lawless way.
Winning depends on several factors beyond the candidate.
WE are the most important of the non-candidate factors.
When Goldwater ran, I worked hard and tripled Nixon’s vote and doubled Ike’s vote in Chicago’s inner city precincts.
I thought “of course, all Goldwater supporters were working hard for him and we would win.”
It was very depressing to learn that most Goldwater supporters were all hot air and no action.

Trump supported TARP, auto bailout and Porkulus bill.
Trump's Record on Free-market Issue: (from the Conservative Review)
Trump has a terrible record on free market issues. The only bright spot is the Federal Reserve's quantitative easing, but this glimmer is countermanded by his repeated support for bailing out Wall Street and the auto industry, and increased stimulus spending. Of particular concern is Trump's belief that the government can use eminent domain powers to seize private property in the name of private economic development. This comes as no surprise, given his support for using eminent domain to profit his own company.
Trump supported the Supreme Court’s 2005 decision in Kelo v. City of London, allowing public authorities to seize private land for economic development by private investors; Trump said, “I happen to agree with [the decision] 100 percent.” (National Review) This is no surprise given Trump’s attempt to use eminent domain in his own line of work. (Institute for Justice)
Trump supported President Obama’s 2009 stimulus, saying: “The word stimulus is probably not used in its fullest…you know, certain of the things that were given weren't really stimulus. They were pork, as we call it, or they were gifts to certain people. But overall, I think he's [President Obama] doing very well. You do need stimulus and you do have to keep the banks alive.” (CNN)
Trump supported TARP, saying, "You had to do something to shore up the banks, because ... you would have had a run on every bank." (CNN)
Trump supported the 2008 auto bailout, saying, “I think the government should stand behind them 100 percent. You cannot lose the auto companies. They’re great. They make wonderful products.” He also said that the federal government could “easily save the companies.” (Daily Caller)
Trump criticized the Federal Reserve’s intervention in the debt market, saying quantitative easing creates “phony numbers” that mislead the marketplace and “will not ultimately benefit the economy. The dollar will go down in value and inflation will start rearing its ugly head.” (CNBC)
Donald Trump has a history of using eminent domain to complete business deals. Multiple times Trump has supported the use of government agencies to take possession of homes and businesses for use in his private business plans. Eminent domain seizures are reserved only for public use of property rather than abuse by the government taking property from one individual and giving to another. (Washington Post)
Donald Trump has sought and received crony capitalist tax breaks for his commercial properties in New York. These tax breaks, and even an abatement, force the property taxes of other property owners to rise at the expense of the connected. Special treatment for one business or industry over another with the tax code conflicts with free market principles. (National Review)
In 2009, Trump supported Barack Obama's call for limits on the pay of executives. (CNN)
I just took full credit again. I should share the credit.
The Seventh Day Adventist church in my precincts (Hispanic Dominican Republic and Puerto Rican) pushed Goldwater’s book beside the Bible, Phylis Schafly and Fred Schwarz books. They talked up Goldwater with their neighbors. They had an impact not just in my precincts but in the broader community they served.
Glad to be considered extreme along with Ted. I guess in our day, where so many have drank the Koolaid, we are extreme, but 50 years ago we’d have been mainstream. We’ve come a long way, huh?
