Kentucky Gov.-elect Matt Bevin said in an appearance on The Glenn Beck Radio Program Friday that he will push back against the Environmental Protection Agencyâs efforts to regulate the coal industry, telling the EPA to âpound sand.â
Bevinâs comments came after Glenn Beck asked, âNow that youâre in, President Obama has said that heâs going to destroy the coal industry. Kentucky is a coal state. What are you going to be doing specifically to push back on that?â
In August, President Barack Obama unveiled his coal policy in partnership with the EPA, granting the agency authority over what is traditionally a state responsibility.
According to Sam Batkins, director of regulatory policy at American Action Forum, the policy will cost $2.5 trillion and 125,800 jobs, along with shuttering 66 power plants.
Bevin, a Tea Party favorite who became only the second Republican in four decades to win Kentuckyâs governorship Tuesday, vowed to stand against the EPA when it comes to protecting his stateâs large coal industry.
âWhy it is that we in Kentucky â that sit on two extraordinary basins, the Illinois basin and the Central basin, an abundance of this â how are we not participating in something that the world wants more of than they ever have?â Bevin asked. âAnd so, from my way of thinking, we will tell the EPA and other unelected officials who have no legal authority over us as a state, to pound sand.â
Bevin, a self-described âstaunch conservative,â told Beck he believes the 10th Amendment is âone of the most powerful toolsâ and that power not expressly given to the federal government is the responsibility of the states.

“100% thanks to McConnell, Boehner, the US Chambers of Crony Socialism, and the rest of the corrupt, spineless wimps of the GOP-E.
“
Please allow me to BUMP that!
But this time will be different.
Can you imagine how much worse it would have been if a Democrat gave barry 100% of what he wanted rather than the lesser evils?
There is a term in audio engineering called ‘digital zero’. It is a limit / ceiling which nothing can pass no matter how loud a thing gets. The audio waveform is simply clips and the sound becomes a square wave distorted mess. Listen to Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” album for the dound of what happens when an entire album is crashed up against ‘Digital zero’ in an attempt to win the so called ‘loudness war’.
Likewise, this situation has its own digital zero and the result is the same. The liberals scream loudly and believe ‘the dem is worse’ even though the whole of the GOP is a record of giving marry what he wants. There is no way to breach the wall. A democrat could not give barry more than the GOP has and thus could not be worse. Romney could not have been a better president because his record and beliefs are lockstep with Obama and thus could not be worse.
And the result sounds like Death Magnetic. A bunch of liberals thinking if they just turn up the volume on everything they want desperately to believe, they will breach ‘political’ zero and hear the sound they want to hear. But all they got was distorted noise.
Romney is palling around with former Obama advisers, so there you are.
Oh but surely that has no bearing in the severe conservative he would surely governed as. Surely.
Clearly this is political outreach and the man he is paling around with; a man I may add who was used as a point of accusation by several highyl vocal pro Romney freepers (If you don’t vote for Romney David Axlerod Thanks you!) is going to join Mitt in his ongoing and highly publicized support for Ted Cruz any day now.
Because we know that a severe conservative would never join with an anti-semitic Obama loving leftist. Only evil purists would do that.
Don’t we?
Yeah...Axelrod is as evil as you can get, now he is best friends with Romney.
(Maybe he ALWAYS WAS best friends with Axelrod)
Now the Number 2 Coal State needs to replace this simian moron:
with a real governor.
When you profit from the kids your money helped kill by incinerating the evidence, I sorta doubt having best buds with family histories of card carrying communism keeps you up at night with pangs of sudden morality.
No, probably not.
No matter what!
None of the following today that I saw.
Feet to the fire
keep our powder dry
must be selective which battles we fight
Mondays, I guess.
Playing with fire is dangerous, the powder is by Johnson & Johnson and they chose to fight against conservatives on behalf of the GOPDNC.
Whenever we see a FReeper post “ You helped elect Obama” we know what we have.
Someone really bad at Civics for starters.
For starters...
