In his 1990 autobiography, âGifted Hands,â Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the classâidentified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301âthat their final exam papers had âinadvertently burned,â requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher. All the students but Mr. Carson walked out.
âThe professor came toward me. With her was a photographer for the Yale Daily News who paused and snapped my picture,â Mr. Carson wrote. â âA hoax,â the teacher said. âWe wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class.â â Mr. Carson wrote that the professor handed him a $10 bill.
No photo identifying Mr. Carson as a student ever ran, according to the Yale Daily News archives, and no stories from that era mention a class called Perceptions 301. Yale Librarian Claryn Spies said Friday there was no psychology course by that name or class number during any of Mr. Carsonâs years at Yale

It’s behind a subscription wall, but I saw a poster say that if you google the title and then click the link via google, you can read it. I just did it and it works for me.
We have a filthy, despicable left-wing media in our nation and the people are starting to wake up to it.
Care to share?
Oh come on. Ben is infallible.
He is on top of the polls, goes to church on Saturday, knows Joseph stored grain the Pyramids, hits his mother with a hammer, stabs his friends, and is such a great brain surgeon that he stopped being a brain surgeon to run for President, because that’s what brain surgeons do, go straight from the operating room to the WH.
To short circuit this process....just Google the title of the article.
The horror.
Apparently you don’t know what sharing means. I refuse to subscribe to the WSJ when all this will come out for free in a day or two.
Thanks. That worked. Look like Carson may have some ‘splayin to do.
The left always lets you know whom they fear...
What is wrong with going to church on Saturday?
When all thi silliness fails I can only imagine what the media’s going to do to his wife...
They can ask all the questions they want
but before they publish the questions I would hope they would go to the Carson campaign and ask them for an explanation.(and give them time to respond)
Once the questions are published it all sounds ominous and there may be some innocent explanations
The BS about Westpoint could have easily been cleared up if they went to the campaign first
I sure hope so. Neither party of politicians will ever be held accountable until
the media has been held accountable and forced to act like actual journalists.
The problem is each story chips away at his reputation for honesty. They are palinizing him. So he lied about a stupid class at Yale? Who cares right? OK, well add that to being held at gunpoint at Popeye’s. No evidence. The stabbing, hammer, rocks, bricks of his youth. No evidence. The sheltering white students during a high school race riot mentioned in the WSJ story. No evidence. Now you get into the kooky pyramid grain stuff. The creationism evolution debate. Transgender bathrooms. Support for TPP. Support for amnesty. and on and on and on.
I get people here hate politico and want to rally around Carson today but objectively the guy is a walking disaster area as a candidate. He’s not going to be the nominee.
Something’s wrong when you’re a successful brain surgeon and yet feel the need to indulge in Walter Mitty fantasies.
Interestingly I was just about to post the link to you from google, but clicked it in preview, only to find that it took me to the subscription wall. The trick seems to only work if you highlight the title, copy it, go to google, paste it, and click the link from there.
