I do not have an auto-payment going but donate $50 monthly and $100 in November for Jim's birthday. That's $650 per year hasn't always been that way but I woke up about the importance of funding FR.
I say this because so many try to claim that it's a private matter as a way of evading the fact that they donate nothing. Some may have valid reasons for being anonymous, but most don't have reason to "remain anonymous" except to mask that they want to have their cake and eat it to by making heavy use of FR while not donating anything.
Those that are "insiders" are polite to a fault in making the pleas w/o ruffling feathers - I am not an "affiliated insider" except in my use and support so I don't feel constrained to exercise the same courtesies.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader.....

I'm shocked to learn than anyone here would take issue with you for pointing out the obvious; --- that were a larger percentage of Free Republic's regular users and members to donate even $5, $10, $20, $30 or more Monthly, this FReepathon and ALL FReepathons would be events of the past!
For that matter, if even half of FR's daily users would merely donate $10, $20, $25, $50 or more at the start of every FReepathon, our FReepathons could be completed within a matter of days or weeks, NOT 2 Months and longer.
I've also donated to CRUZ and I've bought 3 TRUMP baseball caps.
I donate $50. Monthly here and an extra $100. almost every FReepathon. I will add, that I live solely on Social Security, and my money is tight, but I cancelled magazines, newspapers and my gym membership. It's about priorities.
