But where’s the beef? Where’s the production? Companies have tried the Exshaw but it hasn’t worked. Just like the TMS is the equivalent to the Eagle Ford and it stinks - too much clay. From what I have gathered, the source rock component of the Bakken is present in Canada which is demonstrated by all the oil in the older Paleozoic fields but what it is missing is the dolomitic member that is sandwiched between the two source rocks as in North Dakota. So, good source rock but no reservoir.

Definitely not as productive as the Southern side. But some does exist.
