Breitbart ^

Posted on 11/05/2015 9:17:21 AM PST by Cubs Fan

The estimated cost to resettle an average, single Middle Eastern refugee in the U.S. over the first five years is $64,370, or 12 times the United Nations estimates it costs to support a refugee staying in a neighboring Middle Eastern country, according to an analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies.

........

According to CIS, while the UN has sought $1,057 annually to support each Syrian refugee living in neighboring Middle Eastern countries it would cost the U.S. $64,370 per refugee in the first five years, or $257,481 per refugee household, to resettle them in the U.S.

'The five-year costs of resettlement in the United States include $9,230 spent by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within HHS and the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) within the State Department in the first year, as well as $55,139 in expenditures on welfare and education,' the report reads.

Balderdash!!! Let’s make it the same in all countries - equality, you know! Not one country gets more $$$ for support than another. And while we’re at it - cut out the middle man - every stinkin’ government agency with their hand out for a piece of that pie ALONG with the so-called charities!

It’s a small cost if just one. Just one. Will help the usurper destroy the US. Huh.

This administration has certainly changed since Condi said they only have to be right once but we have to be right all the time.

When Walmart trains it’s new employees, they stress that shoplifters are not to be stopped. If they see a tv walk out the front door, they aren’t to say a thing. I bet the majority of other stores have the same policy or this wouldn’t be so common. It’s ok because the rest of us get to pay the difference. That policy might change if us honest customers staged a mass Walk Out the Merchandise protest.

I am not sure exactly what Walmart teaches new employees or where you are getting your information. It does seem consistent with my wife's experience with the Muslim shoplifter. When I looked up Walmart’s policy on shoplifting is however what you wrote seems to be contradicted. This can be easily verified. There have been many articles about Walmart and shoplifting.

Quoting from one, “Walmart has a “prosecute everything” policy (as do many retailers). If they catch you, the police are going to be called, and you're going to be cited or jailed.”

While I assume CIS has made an honest attempt at costs per refugee, I believe these amounts per refugee are underestimated.

The number of govt agencies involved in temporary and permanent settlement of both illegals and refugees is vast-—as is the govt money pouring in to “charities” and orgs of all sorts, many of which have been established for just this purpose.

Setting aside the potential nightmare of having Hillary (or a RINO) as the next President, this is the #1 crisis (on many magnitudes beyond financial) facing America today-— and, if unchecked, the Obama Adm has another 14+ months to inflict maximum damage.

IMO, articles written about this subject have just nibbled around the edges...including the outspoken contributions of an audacious few.

To respond to my own point, I doubt any single person or conservative org can get their hands around this elephant in America’s room. And yet there is enough accumulated facts, evidence and reasonable projection for any conservative candidate or legislator to verbally paint the picture.

Also from the report:

In general, ORR only provides assistance to local communities, charities, and the refugees themselves in the first year after they arrive in the country or are awarded asylum. After a year, charities and state and local social service agencies are expected to care for them.....

It is worth adding that ORR often reports that most refugees are self-sufficient within five years. However, ORR defines “self-sufficiency” as not receiving cash welfare.

A household is still considered “self-sufficient” even if it is using any number of non-cash programs such as food stamps, public housing, or Medicaid.
