Well, I’m shocked, I tell you I am simply shocked at the revelation! The LIndberg glideslope is non-standard. It’s way steeper than normal to provide clearance for the buldings on the approach corridor. I mean you can wave to the folks in the top rooms of the El Cortez Hotel as you land there!

I’m a born and raised 3rd generation of San Diego, so I really do know about San Diego and Lindberg Field.

In fact, my parents would never bother to check whether my flights were on time. They’d just watch from their living room window to read the name of the airliner and then head off to Lindberg to get me. I could almost always spot our rooftop.
